Snapzu, if you could pick any animal to be common and domesticated or available as a pet, which animal would it be?
My fiancé and I went back and forth about this for an hour or so last night and I thought it might go over well where. Interested to hear what you had to say. It doesn't need to be a REAL animal per se' but something close. Example:
Personally I would think it would be really cool if it was normal if everyone just had tiny pet elephants, maybe cat sized. Elephants are awesome creatures and very loving and totally clever. A house pet sized elephant wide spread would be really cool to me.

Giant Honeybees! :D
I imagine that they would be like flying cuddles of fur that act like puppies! Honeybees are really friendly and shouldn't pose any danger to the owners. The best part is that it would save them from extinction, preventing a global agricultural collapse from the lack of pollinators! :D

I also consider crows and bluejays as my spirit animals, because of how smart they are. I would love to have those birds at my side as well.

I really wish domesticated monkeys were more of a thing. I know that in some places you can own a monkey, but wouldn't it be cool if everybody had a monkey? You could take your monkey to a friends house or a park to play with other monkeys. That would be cool.
In my opinion this is the only answer to this question.
I think one of the issues with Monkeys is that they're TOO smart! >< They'd cause a bunch of trouble! :P (secretly I would love pet monkeys in North America though!)

Why? they would make the perfect playmate for my beagle. :D Even when it doesn't want to play the dog can just roll the armadillo around.

A giant black panther. I love cats so it is only natural to be able to have a giant one laying around the house. She would be soft and doubles as good home defense. No one wants to mess with a giant panther. Plus I've always wanted one ever since I read about Drizzt Do'urden's black panther Guenhwyvar. Not the most practical of pets I bet they eat a hell of a lot of meat in a given day.
You can't really go wrong with the 'giant cat' answer. I'd go for a tiger myself (cop out I know) but they are just too beautiful!
I'm sure the pink panther would be better ;)

Otters are really cool. I hung out with some otters at a zoo once when I was a kid, we played hide and seek. Feels like a dream to me but my mom has the proof!
Foxes are a great answer, especially for a realistic expectation. We have cats, we have dogs, why the hell don't we have foxes!?

I'd want a gorilla as a pet, preferably one like Coco who knew sign language (assuming I could learn ASL at a reasonable pace). All household chores seem more fun with a pet gorilla to help you with them.
Does he really? I don't remember that! Wow, it's been maybe a decade, decade and a half since I've seen that movie. Honestly I'm surprised I didn't rewatch before going to see Jurassic World.
