This was the only one that came in mind. Personally, I believe it's okay to ban tribes such as that. It may not be "freedom of speech" but if we allow those types of tribes to exist it brews up toxicity.
I'm impressed. I think it's definitely a positive sign that Snapzu seems to stand up for freedom of speech while equally recognising that hate speech towards anyone is deeply unpleasant to a great majority of people. Thankfully the FPH lot have all slithered off to Voat and not tried to stick around!
I also and very happy about it being shut down. I really enjoy this community and don't want it to be ruined by others pessimism and lack of tolerance to people.
Agreed, I think the internet is something that connects us all and should be treated as something that brings us together and helps us teach learn and connect with others around the world. It shouldn't be a wall that people use to pick on people. I think that snapzu is one of the first sites that are breaking down that wall and bringing users together to create an actual community.
Fatpeoplehate did pop up pretty quickly, and was immediately shut down from what I saw. This was a user's response: http://snapzu.com/CrazyDiamond/mrw-fatpeoplehate-users-try-and-make-a-tribe-on-snapzu

I'm glad, so long as the rules are consistent and enforced on all ideological groups. Just because it's PC doesn't make you above the rules.
