- Cheap property
- Low taxes
- Everybody knows everybody~
- Doesn't get super cold, but still gets cold enough to snow for a day or two every other year
- Halfway between state capitol and county seat, yet still a small town
- Second cheapest gas in the state
- Has a library
- 27 churches in this zip code
- Actually has stuff in town, but not too much stuff
- Like, 2 hours from the undisputed best beach on the East Coast, and 2 hours from the mountains
- Drugs not hard to get, if you're into that
- Lots of old timers who love to tell you about their childhood
- Ground is absolutely fantastic for growing tomatoes
- We have this awesome annual festival called the Catfish Stomp in December.
- Two parks in town, about 1 acre each in size and very unknown
Downsides:
- Hicks everywhere
- All of Ohio seems to want to move here.
- That one curve on the highway that everyone dies on
- People keep moving in from the capitol, seriously, leave us alone, strangers!
- Low taxes = roads and schools falling apart
- You will melt in the Summer, if you don't catch on fire first.
- Pine trees, sand, red clay, and interstate for miles and miles, until you either hit farms or foothills
- All 27 churches are protestant, nearest mosque/synagogue/temple is in capitol ~30 minutes away
- Spring and Autumn? What are these mystical times you speak of when the seasonal weather is reasonable? All we have is WINTER and SUMMER.
- Bipolar daily weather refuses to take its meds
- Everyone dips, then spits it out on the ground.
- Flooded really badly in October, some areas still not recovered
- There's this major fault-line that's been too quiet for too long.
- Good luck finding work actually in the county, unless you're a teacher.
