I spent the first eighteen years of my life thinking water tasted extremely gross. I definitely never bought a bottle of water during that time because why would I pay for something that a) I can get for free and b) tastes nasty?

I finally decided to switch to drinking almost nothing but water for my health. I still couldn't stand tap water taste so I tried bottled water. It took that bottle of water to make me realize that it isn't water itself that tastes disgusting, it's whatever is in the water where I live. It's safe to drink, but it has an awful taste.

I can spend $2 to get enough cheap, off-brand water bottles to last me a week or more. I consider that worth avoiding the taste of the local tap water.
