Well, with bottled water, I'd say you are paying for the convenience and the plastic bottle it comes in, not the water itself. I often buy a bottle of water, then regularly refill it at the tap and use it for awhile until it gets gross.

A friend of mine refuses to drink tap water, his girlfriend has to buy bottled water whenever he's staying at her place. All of us think he's weird.
I don't know about you guys, but the water in my city tastes disgusting. I buy gallons at the grocery store.
Invest in a good filter. It'll probably save you tons of money. The reverse osmosis ones are really good.
Even then, a Brita filter makes your water taste good most of the time. I use mine mostly because I like my water chilly.
I was curious because for some reason I had never thought of this, this is an interesting article, skip to the part about "NSF International": http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/08/19/are-water-filters-bs.html
Interesting. I always thought those pitchers are garbage.
Check this out on reverse osmosis though: http://science.howstuffworks.com/reverse-osmosis.htm/printable
Well, if the water was bad I would totally understand, but he does this everywhere and I think our water is actually good.
