Forced into a new position at work about 10 years ago that I didn't want anything to do with and now am thankful as hell that I stuck it out as it has turned into a great position with no bosses over me, I answer sometimes to the owners but other than that I handle everything myself, from sales to taking care of customers, a one man business with no interference from the owners. Pretty much free to do whatever I want (Within reason). To think I was gonna quit at one point cause I didn't want the position!!
It was a night of good fortune at the casino. Started off with $20 at the blackjack table, kept winning most of the night. There was a side bet on the table where you put $1 bet on your cards being a 7; 1 seven = $3, 2 sevens = $10, 2 sevens with the same suit = $25, etc. (I can't remember the odds exactly, but you know what I mean) ... the whole night I won quite a few of the side bets, including two triple 7s (one of which had the same suit).
After blackjack, I tried my hand at carribean stud poker. My winning streak continued there, and even though I didn't win a big jackpot, by the end of my poker session I had just over $1600.
I decided to cash out $1600 but still had some loose change leftover and decided to play a game called the winning wheel, where a wheel is spun, you place your bets on where it would land with varying odds. Without thinking too much about it, I placed it on the bet with the highest odds, and that's where it landed. By the end of the night I had around $1800. Not bad for a $20 start.
I tried to ride my luck the next night, and promptly lost a couple of hundred bucks in five minutes :)
