Car. Public transport where I live isn't all that great; plus there's nothing like being able to go somewhere whenever you need to without having to worry about schedules. My experience while I was at uni really put me off public transportation. Classes would end on the hour. The bus home left ten minutes to the hour, and I had to switch buses, with a 30 minute wait between them. So, if I caught the bus home, it would take me 2 hours, driving took me 20 minutes.

I did an overnight trip on a train in Asia one time, you could smoke between the carriages throughout the trip. That was awesome :)

Car when it works, bus when it doesn't. Sometimes i'll take the train, but only on longer trips. As for schedules, a phone can keep you entertained during the waits.

Not so much the wait, I have my phone and 3DS with me anyways, it's more the wasted time.
