A friend of mine had a metal detector. Finally I got a go. Brzzt! Dug up a beautiful Victorian chain and bead necklace! My friend said it was his because the meta detector was his. Ploy did not work, I still own the necklace and it has been worn to many places. I was nine when I found it. 45 years later it is still my favourite piece of jewellery.
A long time ago when we were kids were dug up what appeared to be a silver alarm clock from the 30's or 40's. It was incredible, well... until one of the kids put it in his jacket and ran off with it. Damn thief, I'll never forget it.

And it probably ended up in the garbage shortly thereafter.
