Here's one. When I was 16 my parents signed me up for violin lessons. I'm not musically inclined and didn't really care about violin but I wasn't opposed either so I said 'heck why not'. I had a week or two of lessons when my instructor told me there was a recital coming up and he thought I was ready. I didn't really think about it until I got there. Then it dawned on me. These 12 year olds were playing what might have well been Vivaldi and I was getting ready to play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. I wanted more than anything for something to happen to end this recital. I fantasized about a meteor hitting the earth and destroying the stage, my violin, and/or me along with it. But no that never happened, so I went on stage in front of a decently sized crowd and screeched my rendition of the nursery rhyme.
