I miss the time when people didn't compulsively check their phones / facebook / twitter. It's hard to even have a meal with friends without someone pulling out their phone, and the behavior is contagious - if one person whips out their phone to post a picture of their meal, soon everyone is tweeting, updating, and curating their spotify playlists.

That's why I've introduced the pile of phones on the center of the table rule. Everything on silent, and no one touches it until the meal/meeting/tea is done.

I need this rule for watching a movie at home, husband is constantly playing online scrabble while watching a movie with me. I don't get it, is the movie boring? doe he not wish to spend that time with me properly?

I mean i have an internet compulsion but i don't even look twice at my phone at dinners or out with friends or during time with my man. Just when i should be doing unimportant stuff like washing the dishes or laundry..
