A few weeks ago, in the same week, I found myself having been made redundant (after 6 years), my SO had to leave her job (after 4 years) and we were notified that our landlord was selling our house (after 5 years).
Suddenly we were both jobless, and without long-term accommodation.
Yeah, luckily I picked up some temporary contract work from an old employer. It's not forever, but it buys us some time. Rental application currently in process for a new place, SO interviewing for jobs. I always try and be of the opinion that nothing negative so far has made me literally die and, from experience, while I'm alive I'm generally okay. You usually get by in the end.
