I really enjoyed the food. While trekking we had a big enough group that we were able to have a cook, with his kitchen on his back. As soon as we stopped he would visit the local village and get whatever was fresh and available. This was a while ago and I did not know my foods well then. Usually some fresh greens, always lentils and rice, and I discovered I like me some yak cheese. It was a treat on pizza. The goat at the end was a little tough but spiced well.

Once back in Kathmandu we found a traditional Nepalese restaurant that was very nice. It was a great reward after weeks eating at camps. There seemed to be never ending dishes being passed around the table and I ate far more than was necessary. It was similar to Indian, especially in some of the curries and spices. The dumplings and lamb were superb. I also enjoyed some of the side dishes of sauces, pickles and bread. All of it was good though I did not recognize most of what I was served and there was a language barrier.

I am realizing I have not tried Nepalese food since, though I eat a more Indian. I am off to google the nearest Nepalese restaurant. Thanks!

No problem! Haha and thank you for the reply. That's pretty cool, I have actually never looked up Nepalese recipes or what type of food they eat. Lamb is amazing though.
