I was engaged to a young lady who really didn't fit me. Broke that off and I am very glad for it. Looking back I am 100% sure it would not have worked out.
When the UK had its first real hurricane the chimney stack of our five storey semi detached Victorian house came down (we had the basement flat). 1. It fell into next door and went straight down to the basement, carrying the woman owner in her bed with it - fractured pelvis and arm only! and 2. I was on holiday in Greece at the time.
When the Sri Lankan Airport was attacked in 2001 , I was actually on the way there for a flight. For some reason I got delayed leaving my hotel and heard it on the news when otw there.
