Lancing a Pasteurella abcess in a rabbit. It is both rancid and beautiful at the same time. The mucopurulent discharge has an interesting sheen to it and usually exits the incision site in strings that look a little like pearl necklaces mixed with cottage cheese. I think it may tie with removing chylous effusions from a thoracic cavity. Images usually don't do it justice but there is immediate respiratory relief to the animal and the fluid looks like pearlescent paint in water.
