I put in a ton of hours in Wild World, but New Leaf is far and away my favorite. Probably because of the memories associated with it. My wife and I had an in-game date at her museum <3
I've never actually played Wild World because I didn't have a ds. I only bought my 3ds in anticipation of New Leaf!
I owned City Folk though and I could never really get into it. I feel like it would be more successful on the Wii U because you could use the game pad as your pocket!
And inventory management is perhaps the only thing I don't like about the series. I wish they'd do a hybrid version, where you could play on the wii U or the 3ds. Imagine using the wii U pad to place furniture, etc. I'd be incredible.
They could easily integrate the two systems. They did something very similar with super smash brothers... Of course, first they need to make a real game for the Wii U in general!

Oh yeah! Seriously if we could place furniture with the stylus that would save us so much frustration!
