The typical first-come, first-serve system of waiting in line is incredibly inefficient. Danish researchers have now shown that a last-come, first-serve system, which maddeningly serves those who entered the line most recently first, is the most efficient.

If everyone hates the better way than it's not really better, is it?
I suppose in this article, they equated, 'better' with 'more efficient'. But you are so right. I think I'd rather wait a bit longer than stand there silently fuming at the unfairness of it all.
Meh, I the Murica won. We shorten lines by closing lanes, thus making people give up on buying stuff.
