Malware protection for older Macs

I'm a little unsure about this particular tip. OSX isn't nearly as susceptible to Malware .VS Windows systems.
Use a browser with a good ad-blocker and you're pretty much sorted, to be honest. No need to load your system down with "utility" applications and virus scanners which take up far more resources than what they are protecting against.
That's a fair point. I'm just always paranoid about malware on older systems when because a lot of the time you can't get the current OS , therefore no security updates . It's more of an if you feel you need it thing.
