The Decay of Twitter
On Tuesday, Twitter Inc. announced another dreary set of quarterly earnings. While the company beat investor expectations, it’s still running at a loss of $132 million after taxes. Its fourth-quarter projections seem low. Worst of all, its namesake product has essentially failed to add any active American users in 2015. Twitter stock fell more than 10 percent after the announcement.

Well I can think of a few reasons for their problems... conversations can get hard to follow when a dozen people get involved in them, one sentence easily takes up the 140 character limit they impose and that's without hash and at symbols involved, they turned off the API and switched to tokens for popular 3rd party apps which in turn caused a loss of users not willing to use inferior apps as twitter refuses to give more tokens to apps.
