Syria conflict: Australian PM regrets loss of life in US-led strike
Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has expressed regret for the loss of life in a US-led airstrike which killed dozens of Syrian soldiers fighting the so-called Islamic State. Mr Turnbull has confirmed that Australian warplanes were involved in Sunday's mistaken attack. Russia called an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council to discuss the strike. The US has also expressed "regret" for the "unintentional loss of life".
