She is an emotionally abusive, internet bully that deserves her 15 minutes of shame, and then to be discarded to the rubbish pile of internet fame whore history.

I don't think she is really saying anything brave, just because she is saying what many people might be thinking... just because you think it, and are FREE to say it out loud doesn't mean you SHOULD say it out loud. Being intentionally hurtful to others is not something to be applauded or thought "brave" at all. Lack of empathy and compassion for others should be treated the same as the use of racial slurs. Being an intentional asshole to others is just gross .. those "fat people" she has so much distain for might figure out how to get healthier... but her "fat" attitude will always make her ugly.

It saddens me that people like this have a voice in society. Nothing she says is particularly unique, funny or thoughtful. Its just a lot of "look at me" BS. And its not her directly, but her actions and the attention they garner are the symptoms that im talking about.

It saddens me that people like this have a voice in society.

To borrow from Evelyn Beatrice Hall: I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it. What Nicole Arbour said was hurtful and biased, but it clearly represents what other people have to say on the topic as well. Consequently I find it more useful to give it a platform to be voiced, and then demonstrate how it's hurtful and biased the way the author does here. Opinions that are suppressed don't make them go away, and it doesn't necessarily make them socially unacceptable. Exposing them for what they are accomplishes that purpose much better than inciting outrage and demanding they be denied a voice.

The problem is its also hypocritical. Sure weight can affect your health but there are a LOT of activities we engage in that can affect your health.

Putting all kinds of chemicals in your hair can certainly have lasting affects to your health, and most of them lack long term studies of their health affects. Same goes for tanning (and she looks pretty tan for living in Canada).

My point is, there are thousands habits that are unhealthily, and quite frankly, most people engage in a least a few of them. picking and choosing which ones you condemn seems ignorant and silly.

Here are some other snaps you may like...
