Russia gets voted off UN Human Rights Council
The General Assembly voted Russia off the UN Human Rights Council on Friday, a stunning rebuke to the country which is increasingly being accused of war crimes over its atrocities in Syria.

By two votes. Saudi Arabia, though, was re-elected. So all is right with the world, then, I guess.

Thank goodness they did, too. We can't have the good name of the UN Human Rights Council be sullied. Surely not after Saudi Arabia's done such a brilliant job heading it up lately. Just ask fellow current members China, Cuba, Mexico and Qatar.
Or newly electrd members Egypt and Iraq. Of course, the U.S. hasn't been on it for some years now. Not sensing the same opprobrium from the Voice of America over that, though. Wonder why that is.
