Oh my, I do not have the answers. I do know that we're even so far away from a candid heartfelt open-minded discussion because partisan crap and all-or-nothing panic seems to obfuscate any real open honest discussion, such that I do not believe substantive change will occur in my lifetime. (And I am young yet) My gun has a little ridge that needs to be filed in order to prevent it from having hangfires, but it is and was a good deal and I can just pour rounds through it getting center mass grouping each time effortlessly. It's the same as ski-ball only louder and costlier. It calms me like no other. Still my beloved shot herself with a seacamp and it was totally preventable by laws in place by my state, but after perfunctory investigations from multiple agencies the consensus is shit happens and when I was 15 I was subjected to the terror of another woman's domestic violence involving a firearm -- I sat there rigid in fear 'til dawn and when I finally was able to move from the couch and alert the others in the house who had slept through it all, we discovered a slug in the molding which had missed me by inches and I wasn't even targeted-- So my feelings are complex. On the one hand I love the hobby which helps me unwind on the range and on the other I despair at the entitlement and the lack of oversight.
