World’s Fastest Camera Captures Chemical Reactions in Single Shot
Two major Japanese universities have unveiled a camera that's 1,000 times faster than existing high-speed cameras. With a multitude of applications in both the public and private sector, it can capture images that are basically impossible to visualize in a single shot, such as chemical reactions.

Seems a bit excessive, no?
Not when you're trying to catch independent chemical reactions that happen so damn quickly that our own imagination cannot fathom.
That's a lot of frames. How can anyone go through all that.
I don't think the goal is to go through all the frames, I think the goal is to capture as much change as possible so that we can see what is going on with these types of reactions. Most of the "going through" can be automated using intelligent algorithms anyway...
