This is on the list of "things that will never happen." I've never met a California voter who has said anything remotely positive about this crazy idea.
I agree, this is nonsense. It may be the USA's most populated state, but California still has a significantly lower population than the UK, which is comparable in terms of land area. Of course it is still a lot to keep an eye on, but surely this is why states and countries are subdivided into counties?
