So there was a discussion sparked by /u/BlueOracle in Literature about "The most american fiction - according to the rest of the world". I am curious what folks here would consider American compositions. Personally I find Aaron Copland followed by Samuel Barber to be the quintessential 'American' composers but I would love to hear others' thoughts! Who is in your 'must have' list?

Here is what we use for pork ribs when we smoke them

3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar 1/4 cup paprika 1/8 cup garlic powder 1 tbs ground black pepper 1 tbs ground ginger powder 1 tbs onion powder 1 tsp ground rosemary

I am curious as to what others use for any type of meat.
