    Or, you know, you could just learn to deal with technology in a reasonable, controlled manner, and let others do whatever the hell they want with their lives.

    I'm in Bulgaria right now, which has super-fast Internet connection, WiFi everywhere, and decently-priced cellphone data plans. Yet the coffee and dining cultures are strong enough that you never see people gazing at their phones in restaurants or cafés. People look each other in the eye and enjoy their social time without distraction from their smart devices.

    I think that's way more reasonable than isolating yourself from the beneficial uses of said technologies.
