I don't think the average person realizes Bitcoin isn't inherently that anonymous if you're trying to do nefarious things and don't know how to take steps to make it less traceable. There's quite literally a virtual paper trail available for any member of Joe Public to search and follow. If someone's really determined to nail you, as law enforcement would be, they'll find you if you aren't clever about it.
