Every time Disney’s beloved mouse is about to enter the public domain, U.S. copyright law magically changes. Does he deserve special protection, or should he be relinquished to society?

"Which is more important, a robust public domain, or the well-being of private interests?"
Is this even a question? Private interests own the government, and the public doesn't give a shit. The question is completely absurd. It's like asking: "Is zero less than infinity?"
Corporations own the government, and make the government legislate whatever they want, whenever they want, regardless of public interest. This is a fact. I get tired of reading articles where people seem to ponder this point, there's no doubt about it. I wonder if all the people who write articles like this read the constitution and think "ooooh, this is nice! I'm happy to be in a country that follows these rules!"
