    My problem is I don't trust Google.or their browser,nor do I want to be dependent on their cloud.

      This is the same with me. I have used a chromebook and it was below par for me. Not alot of apps work with it yet unfortunately. Made life harder than it needed to be.

        I've never used one. I just have a tower with Ubuntu on it and an emergency backup crappy lappy.
