US oil workers go on national strike
US union leaders have launched a large-scale strike at nine refineries after failing to agree on a new national contract with major oil companies. It marks the first nationwide walkout since 1980 and impacts plants that together account for more than 10% of US refining capacity. The United Steelworkers Union (USW) began the strike on Sunday, after their current contract expired and no deal was reached despite five proposals.

Awesome timing!
OPEC drops the cost per barrel to a level not seen in over 15 years, and suddenly the poor, beleaguered unions suddenly realize they've been crapped on for far too long, and go on strike. Which just so happens to cause a large spike in gasoline prices in the States.
I can only imagine that it will be the strikers .vs the oil companies .vs OPEC. See who flinches first. America gets inflated oil and gas prices and plenty of more Middle East Tension to keep the news channels hopping.
The crunch is coming!!
