12 billion gallons of water pour into Lake Tahoe amid this week's heat wave
The process of the Sierra Nevada spring snow melt sped up this week as a heat wave brought triple-digit temperatures to parts of the Western United States. What's more, water managers have been releasing water from the lake into the Truckee River for the past 120 consecutive days to make room for snow-melt runoff.

We're experiencing the every same process in Kelowna, BC (as well as the general Okanagan region). Rain, heat and melting glaciers are wrecking havoc on a number of large lakes and it's causing evacuations of homes and damage to nearby marinas. Actually, it's been more than 65 years since anything like that happened around Kelowna. Let's hope this isn't a start of a trend. Hmm.
It sure looks like a trend to me.
