    Thanks for the insight. I see how using the BMI is misused to classify and label people i.e. "healthy" v "overweight" v "obese"

    So even though it can be abused in this way, it doesn't negate that it could be useful as a metric in the abstract which allows someone (or at least me) to measure and target personal fitness level. Even though the metric levels are not absolute for everyone I can set my own targets and measure my physical fitness progress based on my exercise+diet program.
