No mention that the joker in the pack i.e. Kurds are not only advancing on ISIS in northern Iraq but also uprising in Turkey in a region where a tree-way of southeastern Turkey, northern Syria and northwest Iraq meet.
It's all well and good to lament a Russian-backed Assad in Syria as destabilizing to the region but this region is destabilized past a point of no return even with a ceasefire in Syria. Assad-controlled Syria in alliance with Iran and Russia does at least put a lid on a Turkish and Iraqi civil war with Kurds... as unjust as that may be to their cause :/
