How corporations could soon escape prosecution, by buying their way out
A new era of US-style plea deals for corporate corruption moved has moved nearer after it emerged that prosecutors had begun private negotiations that could allow a small British exporter to escape prosecution for alleged bribery.

So they would be able to avoid prosecution for, say, bribery by offering money to the government. We should come up with a word for that.

So, wait, the UK government prosecutes criminal corporations? Or, at least, did until recently? How delightfully quaint and well-meaning.
The UK is still paying (literally) for having been screwed centuries ago by the South Sea Company. It's understandable they'd take some precautions.
