With Covington High School blowback, adults lost all perspective on teenage immaturity
The first time I saw "Schindler’s List" was at a special screening for high school students. Our school had been invited, and our principal decided that everyone needed to see it. It was 1994, just two years after a jury's acquittal of four white police officers in the beating of Rodney King led to outrage and burning and looting. Our school was just a few miles from the corner of Florence and Normandie, the intersection in South Los Angeles that was the epicenter of the riots.
