This is why you should brush twice a day. And floss. Better be safe than sorry ;)
It's pretty amazing that he was able to form one memory though. I wonder if the doctors are trying to prescribe him various drugs that affect brain (antidepressants, mood stabilisers etc) to see if they have any effect? Or maybe they go by "do no harm" and stay on the safe side?
Oh wait, I just checked, if you read the original report, it also states this:
That scares the crap out of me. it's amazing how little we seem to know about the brain...
Keen to hear some theories on this one. What a challenge to figure this out.
