Apple just banned some versions of Adobe Flash from its computers
With his “Thoughts on Flash” letter back in early 2010, late Apple CEO Steve Jobs waged a war on Adobe that the media couldn’t get enough of. Beyond the hype, however, Adobe’s Flash platform really had become a resource hog that was a terrible burden on developers, and that wreaked havoc on PC performance. Thanks to the war Jobs waged, two things have happened in recent years: Flash has become far less popular as better technologies moved in to replace it, and the Flash platform has improved.

At first I'm sure no one will care because it's Flash, but this feels like a technology horror story. People were flipping out when Microsoft's service agreement said that if they detected pirated software they had the right to block it (or remove it, I forget the exact wording) but they haven't acted on that yet. Yet here apparently Apple can block anything they like. Even if they say it's in the best interest of safety, that kind of logic can be used to block things like torrenting software.
