"Roads were not built for cars": how cyclists, not drivers, first fought to pave US roads
Nowadays, it's common to view city streets as largely a place for cars. Bikes, if anything, are seen as a very recent intrusion on them. But the surprising truth is that back in the 1890s and early 1900s, it was mainly cyclists who first advocated for cities in the US and Europe to pave their streets and build new roads.

It's an interesting way to write an article. At the beginning, it seems the author is a bicyclist and is probably writing this from a Pro-bikes-on-roads point of view. By the end of the article, the author has almost made the point against bikes. At least that's how it seemed to me.

that's how it felt as I was reading it. Perhaps it was intended solely as informational and that's why both sides were represented.
