Winter Soldier and Civil War borrow some elements heavily from the Bourne, and Bond series, which all display different levels of realism in the same spy "super soldier" genre. Did you see the Luke Cage trailer? Daredevil gets worn out, gets injured a lot, but has supernatural senses, and deals with the Hand, a group that is straight up fantasy. The Punisher is probably flat out the closest to a "realistic superhero" I have seen yet in the MCU, you just get introduced to him during the same season as that fleshes out the Hand. And that is something unique to the Netflix shows, they give their characters enough screen time to really showcase their human sides.
The Justice League has always had an underlying "modern Gods" theme, especially when you consider some of Wonder Woman's best stories weave into Greek mythology. Suicide Squad, even with its full on magic, will be a test of the DC films, as a good chunk of its cast is "street level". Amanda Waller is a realistic consequence of the DC Universe existing as it does.
In the end, I don't mind Marvel's constant push. And part of that is the combination of the Netflix shows, and the space fantasy in flicks like Guardians of the Galaxy. Plus, while I may be bored out of my mind with the X-Men flicks, I am pumped for Deadpool 2. But that's just me.
