For anyone interested there is a pretty good book of academic essays focused on sci-fi in Japanese fiction and anime called Robot Ghosts and Wired Dreams. There's a pdf floating around out there. (On that note, are we allowed to talk about those things on this board? ie torrents and unofficial sources? I'd assume no direct linking is allowed, but some boards don't want you to even mention fansubs or anything like that at all.)
