So much ignorance in the comment section. It never ceases to amaze me how people see this as a failure of Socialism when it's so clearly a failure based on corruption. I'm not a Socialist, I'm more of a Democratic Socialist. The biggest difference being that I don't think government should control all means of production of goods and control over services. Private industry has its proper place in a robust society. Look at the bank accounts of the Venezuelan leadership if you want to know what happened in Venezuela. The problem there is unfettered Capitalism, people who think all of the money should go to them and screw everybody else.
The Bolivarian Revolution in action. I wonder how many of them voted for Chavez or Maduro?
