Presumably this also means that half a billion fewer have been born since. It's nice that less livestock means that less animals will have to spend their lives standing in a queue for the chopping block though for 99% of them, their existance at all is dependent on their ability to pay for themselves. I feel that responsible farming is a better way forward. Support your local farm/small holding markets.
