Costume party highlights racism at Queen’s University, critics say
The student government of Queen’s University has condemned a recent party attended by undergraduates that involved wearing stereotypical national costumes, photos of which have elicited heated criticism on social media for their “racist” depictions of foreign cultures. The Saturday event featured mostly white students dressed as Middle Eastern sheiks, Viet Cong guerrillas, Buddhist monks and dreadlocked Rastafarians, among other cultural groups.

Your only safe bet is to dress like a pirate. We love all races and creeds. As long as there has been water, there has been pirates!!!!!!
Oh yeah? Dress like a Barbary pirate and I'll bet you'll get a cease and desist order from the culture club!
Not sure why the Culture Club would have a problem. Some pirates were, well, alternative lifestyle advocates. You cant appropriate a culture when the culture covers all.... cultures??? If that makes sense.
Is there a style guide for acceptable costumes to wear?! Kids in school have no chance of survival in the real world if this is what they think are relevant life lessons.
