The prison industrial system is the modern, more effective version of slavery. The government hides the slaves from sight while proclaiming to help equality with moronic, ineffective policies. That way everyone feels good about themselves for helping diversity while the prison corps cash in on the slave labor.
That's how it works. Such a lovely country we have here with such compassionate over lords.
