U.S. appeals court revives antitrust lawsuit against Apple
iPhone app purchasers may sue Apple Inc over allegations that the company monopolized the market for iPhone apps by not allowing users to purchase them outside the App Store, leading to higher prices, a U.S. appeals court ruled on Thursday.

Apple uses the "argument" that they keep quality levels high by not allowing users get iPhone apps from outside their official stores, hence iPhone users are restricted to what Apple dictates, as opposed to Android users who can get apps from many different sources, though by default, their operative system will warn them in advance of anything installed outside Google Play Store.
