NZ court rules Megaupload founder Kim Dotcom can be extradited to U.S. for alleged fraud
A New Zealand court ruled on Monday that internet entrepreneur Kim Dotcom could be extradited to the United States to face charges relating to his Megaupload website, which was shutdown in 2012 following an FBI-ordered raid on his Auckland mansion. Holy crap it's been 5 years since the raid!?
This just seems like a last ditch effort to get him back into the states... I doubt anything will come of this 'fraud' charge.
It really does feel like they ran out of options on what they could get him on and decided since copyright wasn't working fraud would. This feels a lot like the story on Assange and Ecuador's politician for President saying that he can't talk about and disclose things about the US and keep asylum. He needs to be nice to their friends or else.
