Well, this is Microsoft’s so it probable never made a difference. Their software is way more likely to screw up your files.
Big enough deal to wonder why Macrosoft would act. They aren't thinking of their users, right? Something else is going on. Better for their 'analytics' of your live filesystems?
Seriously though, dismounting flash drives after exiting QuickBooks should've been taught in accounting and bookkeeping schools.
