People bought 78 million alexises worldwide last year alone. Many of the owners of these fast-selling internet-connected gadgets, with have wondered when they speak to their virtual home assistant, is anyone else listening? Because Alexa's owner, the giant retailer and tech firm Amazon, has thousands of staff who do nothing else.
