This last season was the new format. They no longer have the build team (Kari, Tory, and Grant). It's just Adam and Jaime. Personally I really like it better this way. I stopped watching a while ago. I missed a few seasons. When I heard the format was gonna change I gave it another chance and I am glad they did it. I am sad to see the build team go but I really enjoy the extra time with Adam and Jaime. Plus we get more time with each myth now and even more time with the builds.

I'm still not sure what I think about the format. I can appreciate them trying to make it more polished but I think it feels a little too overdone. I feel like they are trying to make it so hollywood now and are stepping away from their roots. I'm kind of indifferent to the build team leaving, but I did think Kari was a great role model for little girls watching. I know a lot of kids love Mythbusters and she was a great way to get girls interested in science and engineering. And I don't know if its just me but it feels like they recap what they are doing way more now and it sucks up more time of the episode. It feels like half of the episode is a recap of what they were doing 5 minutes before. The best thing to come from the new format is definitely showing more of the build process.

I agree. I like Adam and Jamie but I feel like this pass season was more about Hollywood and less about the myths. Although that is there background. Maybe they will find more of a middle ground this season.

I hope not all of the new episodes are about movies, or even cartoons. That simpsons episode wasnt that great. For sure the weakest of the new format.

Reverting format is great! I have nothing against the younger additions to the team, but it was the dynamic between Adam and Jaime that made me fall in love with the show. They've said in the past that they aren't really friends just in love with the type of work they do and the two polar opposites really make for some great moments to watch.
