Drug 'melts away' fat inside arteries
A new drug being trialled for treating breast cancer and diabetes has been shown to 'melt away' the fat inside arteries that can cause heart attacks and strokes. Researchers from the University of Aberdeen, using pre-clinical mouse models, showed that just a single dose of the drug (Trodusquemine) completely reversed the effects of a disease that causes a host of heart problems.

And one of the big pharma companies will patent it and charge $10,000 per dose.
The drug was a leftover from a pharmaceutical company who was looking for a cancer treatment. They went bankrupt without ever bringing anything to market. Now researchers think maybe they've got something they could use for weight loss, or to regenerate eyes. Somehow I'm thinking this isn't going to break the rule about things that sound too good to be true.
